Meet Our Founder

Antonio Villegas

My name is Antonio Villegas, and my story begins in Sanford, North Carolina. That small town shaped who I am, but barbering gave me my purpose. I began this journey in 2016 when I graduated from the Sanford School of Barbering, full of ambition and ready to see where this craft could take me.

My first shop was Chapel Hill Barber Shop in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I was young, hungry, and determined to grow. After some time, a friend invited me to help open a new barbershop in Southern Pines called Dapper Barber and Shave Parlor. I took that chance and worked there until 2018.

That was when life took a turn. Things happened that I could not control, and everything around me felt unstable. I left Dapper and bounced from shop to shop, searching for consistency and clarity. I worked briefly at Sandhills Shave Shop, then at Headquarters Barbershop, then at Miami’s Barbershop in Sanford. I left Miami’s to work at The Old Pines Barbershop in Southern Pines, but that opportunity did not last either. Eventually, I found myself back at Miami’s Barbershop, still trying to figure out my path. Life during this time felt chaotic and heavy.

Toward the end of 2018, I took a trip to Houston. I did not know it then, but that trip would change my life. I made some meaningful connections in Sugar Land, Texas, and about six months later, the owner of House of Blades reached out with an offer. My life was already unpredictable, but something inside me knew I had to take a leap of faith. So I packed my things, trusted the process, and moved to Sugar Land in July of 2019 to work at House of Blades.

I worked there until June of 2021, sharpening my skills and rebuilding my confidence. Then I stepped out on my own and moved into a private suite at the Gallery of Salons in Stafford, Texas. I worked there until February of 2022, then continued my journey at Salons by JC, where I stayed until June of 2025.

And then came the moment that made everything worth it. After years of sacrifice, resilience, and growth, I opened Summit Barber Club in Sugar Land, Texas. A place built not just from skill, but from struggle, faith, and every lesson life taught me along the way.

My journey has not been easy, but every step brought me closer to where I was meant to be. This is my story, and Summit Barber Club is the proof that no matter how chaotic life gets, you can always rise.
